Covington Catholic continues their early season domination of their opponents with a 42-9 victory over Kings (OH). Covington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 449 yards of total offense. The Colonels were penalized five times for 65 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted. Kings (OH) recorded seven first downs and 153 yards of total offense. They were penalized once for five yards and lost two fumbles.
C. McGinness led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 159 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. M. Broydston carried the ball three times for 38 yards. C. Jacob completed 11 of 16 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown with one interception. M. Mayer caught five passes for 86 yards. C. McGinness added two receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. J. Coldiron caught two passes for 33 yards. L. Summe added one catch for 35 yards. C. McGinness returned two punts for 32 yards with a long return of 21 yards. E. Kennedy returned one kickoff for 26 yards. M.Mayer led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. W. Schwartz, R. Halverstadt, and G. Hemmer each recorded four solo tackles and Hemmer recovered a fumble.
N. Williams led Kings (OH) ground game with 61 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. A. Koller carried the ball eight times for 26 yards. A. Koller completed five of 15 passes for 64 yards. J. McHugh caught two passes for 48 yards. N. Williams added two receptions for 13 yards. N. Williams returned two kickoffs for 51 yards with a long return of 31 yards. T. Styliski returned three kickoffs for 63 yards with a long return of 24 yards. M. McKelvey led the defense with six solo tackles. H. Henry added five solo tackles. J. Styliski recorded four solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass. G. Hicks recovered a fumble.
