Lexington Christian Academy scored two touchdowns in the final quarter to pull away for a 38-21 victory over Walton-Verona. Lexington Christian Academy recorded 20 first downs and 442 yards of total offense. The Eagles were not penalized tonight and lost one fumble. Walton-Verona recorded five first downs and 184 yards of total offense. They were penalized three times for 15 yards and lost a fumble.
Thomas White led LCA’s ground game with 71 yards on 22 carries. Xavier Brown carried the ball six times for 52 yards. Jayden Barnhardt added 45 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Jayden Barnhardt completed 18 of 24 passes for 286 yards and four touchdowns. DeArious Smith caught 10 passes for 119 yards. Will Vernon added four receptions for 101 yards and three touchdowns. Frankie Knight caught a 52 yard touchdown pass. DeArious Smith returned three punts for 32 yards. Neal Dickey led the defense with three solo and four assisted tackles. Kaleb Bolton added two solo and five assisted tackles. Drew Long recorded one solo and seven assisted tackles.
Tyler Wagner led Walton-Verona’s ground game with 101 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Garrett Jones completed four of eight passes for 70 yards and a touchdown. Peyton Smith caught three passes for 69 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Schrader returned three kickoffs for 107 yards including a 90 yard return for a touchdown. Grant Grubbs led the defense with 10 solo and nine assisted tackles. Dawson Catlett added six solo and eight assisted tackles. Tyler Schrader recorded six solo and five assisted tackles.
