Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-5 Jr. Telaya Todd, 5-9 Sr. Logan Hudson, 5-5 Sr. Kelsey Powell, and 5-5 Sr. Madison Barnard. Whitley County coach David Halcomb countered with 5-7 So. Mikkah Siler, 5-6 So. Reis Anderson, 5-10 Jr. Lindi Lawson, 5-1 Sr. Kaelie Frazier, and 5-4 So. Jaycie Monhollen.
Madison Central rallied from a 10 point deficit in the third quarter to earn a 55-52 road win over Whitley County. The score was tied twice and there were six lead changes in the game. Madison Central stepped up their defense in the final quarter as well as shooting a sizzling 82.4% (14 of 17) from the line. However the Lady Indians were the recipient of a call against Whitley County that helped ensure the victory. Madison Central led 52-50 with less than a minute remaining in the game when Whitley County went to the line to shoot a 1-and-1 with a chance to tie the game. They hit the free throw but a lane violation was called giving the ball to Madison Central. The Lady Colonels were unable to catch up and Madison Central captured a hard fought victory.
Madison Central shot 46.5% from the field including one of eight from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 19 Whitley County turnovers. Whitley County shot 33.3% from the field including nine of 23 from beyond the arc. The Lady Colonels connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 23 Madison Central turnovers.
Jekauri McKeithen led Madison Central with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and three steals. Taleya Todd added 11 points, three assists, and three steals. Kelsey Powell recorded nine points and five rebounds. Madison Barnard added nine points, four assists, and three steals.
Kaelie Frazier led Whitley County with 15 points on five long range bombs. Reis Anderson added 12 points including two three point baskets and four assists. Mikkah Siler was a force in the paint with nine points, 10 rebounds, and three steals. Lindi Lawson pulled down six rebounds.
