Madison Central vs. Lafayette (Boys)

Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. started the following lineup: 6-4 So. Kole Brown, 6-1 So. Braeden Ray, 6-8 Sr. Isaiah Cozart, 5-10 Sr. Deion Cox, and 5-10 Sr. Quaezhan Charlton.  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 5-10 Sr. Evan Dreux, 5-8 Sr. Caleb True, 6-9 Jr. Ray Surratt, 5-6 So. Daniel Kinley, and 5-6 So. Campbell DeYoung.

 

Lafayette defeated Madison Central by a score of 71-49.  Lafayette shot 57.1% from the field including eight of 16 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 40.4% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on eight of 19 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Evan Dreux led Lafayette with 22 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Caleb True added 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Ray Surratt recorded 11 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Campbell DeYoung also reached double figures with 10 points. 

 

Isaiah Cozart led Madison Central with 23 points, five rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Cozart also broke JR VanHoose’s career record for blocked shots tonight.  Deion Cox added eight points.  Kole Brown and Braeden Ray recorded seven points each.
