Eastern Kentucky University coach A.W. Hamilton started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. Lachlan Anderson, 6-5 So. Peyton Broughton, 6-9 Sr. Nick Mayo, 5-10 Jr. Dujuanta Weaver, and 6-2 Jr. Kelvin Robinson.  High Point coach Tubby Smith countered with 6-5 Jr. Brandonn Kamga, 6-5 Jr. Jordan Whitehead, 6-7 Sr. Ricky Madison, 6-2 Fr. Curtis Holland III, and 6-3 Jr. Jahaad Proctor.

Nick Mayo hit a three point shot at the buzzer to give Eastern Kentucky University a 70-69 come-from-behind victory over High Point.  Eastern Kentucky trailed 42-19 with 4:44 remaining in the first half but Eastern Kentucky went on a 12-0 run to trail 42-31 at halftime.  The Colonels continued to chip away in the second half setting the stage for Mayo’s heroics.

Eastern Kentucky University shot 38.2% from the field including six of 22 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 17 High Point turnovers.  High Point University shot 43.1% from the field including four of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on 21 of 29 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  6-2 Fr. Jomaru Brown added 10 points including two three point baskets.  6-5 Jr. Jordan Oakley recorded nine points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.  6-2 So. JacQuess Hobbs added eight points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Brandonn Kamga led High Point with 27 points including nine of 13 free throws, six rebounds, and three steals.  Jahaad Proctor added 24 points including two three point baskets, six of six free throws, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Curtis Holland III recorded eight points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
