Franklin Simpson made a key defensive stop on a potential game tying 2-point conversion attempt with 57 seconds left in the game to ensure a 14-12 victory over Johnson Central.  Johnson Central lost a touchdown on a kick return and another on an interception return in the first half due to costly penalties.  Franklin Simpson recorded 11 first downs and 247 yards of total offense.  The Wildcats were penalized seven times for 57 yards.  Johnson Central recorded 14 first downs and 305 yards of total offense.  The Golden Eagles were penalized eight times for 95 yards and lost a fumble.

Tre Bass led Franklin Simpson’s ground game with 135 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.  Carlos McKinney carried the ball 16 times for 66 yards.  Luke Richardson completed five of seven passes for 56 yards.  Jevon Covington caught three passes for 18 yards.  Leandre Stutzman added two receptions for 38 yards.  Mich. Punzalan led the defense with four solo and 10 assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  Chase Gooch added four solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Leandre Stutzman recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.  Collin Preston added three solo and three assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards.  Ted.Partinger recovered a fumble.

Joe Jackson led Johnson Central’s ground game with 112 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.  Bryce Tackett carried the ball nine times for 112 yards.  Ryley Preece completed one of five passes for 69 yards.  Z. Russell caught one pass for 69 yards.  Ryley Preece punted three times for a 41.0 average with a long punt of 52 yards with one punt inside the 20 yard line.  Hunter McCloud led the defense with three solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Ryley Preece added four solo and one assisted tackles.  Braiden Castle recorded three solo and three assisted tackles.  Dylan Preston added three solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.
