Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-5 Jr. Taleya Todd, 5-9 Sr. Logan Hudson, 5-5 Sr. Kelsey Todd, and 5-5 Sr. Madison Barnard. East Jessamine coach Todd Claunch countered with 5-7 Jr. Autumn Harrison, 5-6 Jr. Aimee Hagins, 5-8 So. Hannah Mclain, 5-3 Sr. Jasmine Atkerson, and 5-4 Fr. Irma Hagins.
Madison Central pulled away late to defeat East Jessamine 70-59 in an up tempo game that featured a combined 64 turnovers and 135 shots attempted in the game. Madison Central got a combined 48 points from Jekauri McKeithen and Taleya Todd. East Jessamine utilizes a deep lineup including some very talented 8th graders that bides well for the future.
Madison Central shot 47.5% from the field including two of five from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on 10 of 22 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 31 East Jessamine turnovers. Madison Central enjoyed a 54-28 advantage in points in the paint and 20-2 in fast break points. East Jessamine shot 33.8% from the field including six of 27 from beyond the arc. The Lady Jaguars connected on three of 10 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 33 Madison Central turnovers. East Jessamine held a 33-5 advantage in bench scoring.
Jekauri McKeithen led Madison Central with 27 points, 16 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Taleya Todd added 21 points, five assists, and five steals. Madison Barnard recorded nine points, five rebounds, three assists, and seven steals. Logan Hudson chipped in with four points and 10 rebounds.
5-7 8th Grader Kayden Robinson led East Jessamine with 13 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots. 5-6 8th Grader Jermya Christian added 10 points, five rebounds, and seven steals. Irma Hagins recorded 10 points and four rebounds. Jasmine Atkerson chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets, five rebounds, and three steals. 5-6 8th Grader Iesha Dean recorded eight points, 14 rebounds, and three steals.
