Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Evan Dreux, 5-8 Sr. Caleb True, 6-9 Jr. Ray Surratt, 5-5 So. Daniel Kinley, and 5-6 So. Campbell DeYoung. South Oldham coach Steve Simpson countered with 6-4 Jr. Luke Morrison, 6-2 Sr. Thomas Downs, 6-4 Sr. Cade Dunham, 5-7 Jr. Jason King, and 5-8 Jr. Seth Johnson.
South Oldham outscored Lafayette 26-12 in the third quarter on their way to a 79-71 victory. There were seven lead changes and four ties in the game. South Oldham was 10of 18 from the three point line in the second half. South Oldham shot 52.3% from the field including 15 of 34 from the three point line. The Dragons connected on 18 of 21 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 46.3% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 South Oldham turnovers.
Luke Morrison led South Oldham with 29 points including five three point baskets, eight of 10 free throws, four rebounds, and three assists. Seth Johnson added 20 points including two three point baskets, 10 of 11 free throws, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 23 points and seven rebounds. Evan Dreux added 14 points including eight of 12 free throws and seven assists. 6-2 Sr. Javen Hardin recorded 11 points and four rebounds. 5-8 Jr. Ryan Stepp chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets and four assists.
