Eastern Kentucky University coach A.W. Hamilton started the following lineup: 6-9 Sr. Nick Mayo, 6-5 So. Peyton Broughton, 6-8 Jr. Lachlan Anderson, 6-2 So. JacQuess Hobbs, and 6-2 Jr. Kevin Robinson.  Xavier coach Travis Steele countered with 6-7 So. Naji Marshall, 6-4 GS Kyle Castlin, 6-9 Jr. Tyrique Jones, 6-3 So. Paul Scruggs, and 6-4 Jr. Quentin Goodin.

Xavier shot a sizzling 71.4% from the field including a 56-32 advantage in points in the paint in a 95-77 victory over Eastern Kentucky.  Xavier shot 71.4% from the field including seven of 16 from the three point line.  The Musketeers connected on 18 of 25 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 223 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 41.7% from the field including 12 of 38 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on five of 15 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 27 Xavier turnovers.

Qurntin Goodin led six Xavier players in double figures with 16 points, 10 assists, and seven steals.  Naji Marshall added 15 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and two steals.  Tyrique Jones recorded 14 points and four rebounds.  Paul Scruggs also scored 14 points including two three point baskets.  6-11 GS Zach Hankins chipped in with 14 points.  6-10 GS Ryan Welage added 11 points including three three point baskets.

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 25 points including four three point baskets, six rebounds, and five steals.  6-2 Fr. Jomaru Brown added 17 points and five assists.  5-10 Jr. Dujuanta Weaver recorded 15 points on five three point baskets and four rebounds.
