Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-5 Sr. Morgan Rakes, 5-8 Sr. Jay Ballard, 5-8 Sr. Maylo Given, 5-5 Sr. Catey Nash, and 5-7 So. Farah Weldon.  Tates Creek coach Matt Yates countered with 5-8 Fr. Caty Armishaw, 5-7 Jr. Lateya Wilson, 5-8 Jr. Yasmeen Shalash, 5-2 Fr. Alisce Lyvers, and 5-8 Fr. Joyce Mukalamusi.

 

Tates Creek trailed by 11 points with three minutes left in the third quarter but rallied to defeat Lexington Catholic by a score of 48-41.  Tates Creek controlled the boards in the second half and held a rebound average of 47-29 for the game and enjoyed an 18-2 advantage in second chance points.  Tates Creek shot 33.3% from the field including four of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Commodores connected on 10 of 16 free throws and scored 14 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 26.9% from the field including four of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on nine of 15 free throws and scored 14 points off 17 Tates Creek turnovers.

 

Caty Armishaw led Tates Creek with 18 points including four three point baskets, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Lateya Wilson added eight points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Alisce Lyvers chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, and five assists.  Joyce Mukalamusi recorded seven points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

 

Jay Ballard led Lexington Catholic with eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Farah Weldon added eight points and two steals.
