Ryle coach Katie Haitz started the following lineup: 5-9 Fr. Austin Johnson, 5-9 So. Brie Crittendon, 5-11 Sr. Lauren Schwartz, 5-7 Jr. Jaiden Douthit and 5-11 Jr. Maddie Scherr.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-10 Fr. Josie Gilvin, 5-11 Fr. Alex Wolff, 6-0 Jr. Kristen Clemons, 5-5 Jr. Destinee Marshall, and 5-6 Sr. Ashlee Harris.

 

Sacred Heart Academy raced out to a 39-26 lead early in the third quarter on their way to a 71-66 victory over Ryle.  The score was tied twice and there were six lead changes in the game.  Sacred Heart shot 54.9% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Ryle turnovers.  Ryle shot 47.5% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Raiders connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

Kristen Clemons led Sacred Heart Academy with 21 points, five rebounds, and two steals.  Clemons was 10 of 13 from the field and one of two from the free throw line.  Ashlee Harris added 20 points including three three point baskets, seven of 10 free throws and seven assists.  Destinee Marshall recorded 14 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Josie Gilvin chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.

 

Maddie Scherr led Ryle with 28 points including two three point baskets, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Lauren Schwartz added 21 points and 14 rebounds.
