Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Javen Hardin, 5-10 Sr. Evan Dreux, 6-9 Jr. Ray Surratt, 5-5 So. Daniel Kinley, and 5-8 Sr. Caleb True. Trinity coach Mike Szabo countered with 6-5 Sr. David Johnson, 6-3 Sr. Jamil Hardaway, 6-4 Sr. Stan Turnier, 5-8 Sr. Kolton Rice, and 6-0 Sr. Kamari Kenemore.
Trinity trailed Lafayette 37-34 after three quarters but Trinity rallied to defeat the Generals 53-47. The score was tied four times and there were 10 lead changes in the game. Trinity shot 40% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line. The Shamrocks connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 19 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 54.3% from the field including five of 12 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on four of five free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off four Trinity turnovers.
Stan Turnier led Trinity with 14 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and four steals. David Johnson added 14 points including three three point baskets and five steals. Jamil Hardaway recorded 10 points and eight rebounds.
Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 15 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots. Javen Hardin added 11 points. Daniel Kinley recorded eight points including two three point baskets
