Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Will Hacker, 6-1 Sr. Matthew Johnson, 6-7 Sr. Kyle Rode, 5-10 Sr. Baylor Brown, and 6-0 Sr. Pearce Dalton. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-6 Sr. Brice Scott, 6-2 Sr. John Poulton, 6-7 Sr. Sam Vaughn, 6-0 Sr. Patrick Geoghegan, and 6-3 So. Ben Johnson.
Lexington Catholic outscored Lexington Christian Academy 21-10 in the third quarter on their way to a 54-49 victory over the Eagles. There were two lead changes and three ties left in the game. Lexington Catholic shot 43.1% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line. The Knights connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 16 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 41% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored seven points off six Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 23 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds. Brice Scott added 10 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Patrick Geoghegan recorded eight points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.
Kyle Rode led LCA with 25 points including three three point baskets, 14 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Will Hacker and Pearce Dalton each recorded eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists.
