Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford started the following lineup: 5-10 Fr. Lauren Thomas, 5-9 Fr. Amiya Jenkins, 5-10 Fr. Kennedy Williams, 5-2 Fr. Maddie Kaufman, and 5-7 Sr. Kiya Thompson.  Lexington Catholic coach Scott True Sr. countered with 5-9 Fr. Chloe Treece, 5-7 Sr. Jay Ballard, 5-8 Sr. Maylo Given, 5-4 Sr. Morgan Rakes, and 5-6 So. Farah Weldon.

 

Lexington Catholic trailed 33-22 in the third quarter but Jay Ballard hit a layup at the buzzer to give Lexington Catholic a 56-54 victory over the Lady Blue Devils.  The score was tied four times and there were three lead changes in the game.  Lexington Catholic shot 42.6% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 11 of 12 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 43.8% from the field including three of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 13 points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

5-7 So. Ariel West led Lexington Catholic with 13 points including six of six free throws and three assists.  Maylo Given added 12 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and two steals.  Chloe Treece chipped in with nine points.  Farah Weldon recorded eight points and five rebounds.  5-5 Fr. Hannah Carlisle added seven points.

 

Amiya Jenkins led Henry Clay with 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Kiya Thompson added 13 points including two three point baskets.  Kennedy Williams recorded eight points, five rebounds, and two steals.
