Austin Peay University coach Matt Figger started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Terry Taylor, 6-5 Sr. Chris Porter-Bunton, 6-5 Gr. Jarrett Givens, 6-0 Sr. Zach Glotta, and 6-4 Sr. Steve Harris.  Eastern Kentucky University coach A.W. Hamilton countered with 6-8 Fr. Tre King, 6-4 Fr. Houston King, 6-9 Sr. Nick Mayo, 5-10 Jr. Dujuanta Weaver, and 6-2 Fr. Jomaru Brown.

Nick Mayo connected on two free throws with 5.7 seconds remaining on the clock to give Eastern Kentucky University an 82-80 come-from-behind victory over Austin Peay University.  Austin Peay missed a long field goal attempt at the buzzer.  The score was tied five times and there were 12 lead changes in the game. 

Eastern Kentucky shot 52.7% from the field including 11 of 22 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Austin Peay turnovers.  Austin Peay shot 39.4% from the field including nine of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Governors connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 31 points including four three point baskets, nine rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.  Mayo was 11 of 16 from the field including four of five from beyond the arc and five of seven free throws.  Jomaru Brown added 17 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, nine assists, and four steals.  Dujuanta Weaver recorded 13 points including four three point baskets and five rebounds.  Tre King added 10 points and six rebounds.

Terry Taylor led Austin Peay with 37 points including three three point baskets, 15 rebounds, and two assists.  Chris Porter-Bunton added 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  6-2 Jr. Isaiah Hart recorded 10 points including two three point baskets.  6-0 Fr. Antwuan Butler added eight points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, three assists, and five steals.
