Johnson Central (27-7) vs. Trinity (26-8) Game 2

Johnson Central coach Tommy McKenzie started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Gabe Ferrell, 6-0 So. John King, 6-3 So. Isaiah May, 5-11 So. Cory VanHoose, and 5-11 Sr. Jacob Rice.  Trinity coach Mike Szabo countered with 6-5 Sr. David Johnson, 6-3 Sr. Jamil Hardaway, 6-4 Sr. Stan Turnier, 5-8 Sr. Kolton Rice, and 6-0 Sr. Kamari Kenemore.

 

Trinity lived up to their lofty ranking as the veteran Shamrock squad defeated a young Johnson Central squad by a score of 70-28.  Trinity shot 50% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Shamrocks connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 15 Johnson Central turnovers.  Johnson Central shot 26.8% from the field including three of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Eagles connected on three of three free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored seven points off 10 Trinity turnovers.

 

Jamil Hardaway led Trinity with 18 points, five rebounds, and two steals.  Hardaway was eight of eight from the field and two of three from the free throw stripe in only 16 minutes of play.  David Johnson added 13 points, six rebounds and three assists.  Stan Turnier recorded 10 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.

 

Cory VanHoose led Johnson Central with 14 points.  Jacob Rice added seven points.
