Ashland Blazer coach Jason Mays started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Ethan Hudson, 6-1 Jr. Justin Bradley, 6-3 Sr. Devauntae Robinson, 5-9 Fr. Ethan Sellars, and 6-1 Fr. Cole Villers. Owensboro coach Rod Drake countered with 6-3 Fr. Gavin Wimsatt, 5-8 So. Amari Robinson-Wales, 6-3 Jr. Isaac Humphrey, 5-5 Sr. Aireon Phillips, and 5-7 Jr. Imonte Owsley.
Ashland Blazer trailed by nine in the third quarter but rallied in the final quarter to defeat Owensboro by a score of 58-50. The score was tied seven times and there were three lead changes in the game. Ashland Blazer shot 48.8% from the field including nine of 17 from the free throw line. The Tomcats connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored five points off 13 Owensboro turnovers. Owensboro shot 36% from the field including three of nine from beyond the arc. The Red Devils connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Ashland Blazer turnovers.
Devauntae Robinson led Ashland Blazer with 16 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two assists. Cole Villers added 14 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Ethan Hudson recorded 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Justin Bradley chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.
Isaac Humphrey led Owensboro with 12 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Amari Robinson-Wales added 11 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. 5-9 Sr. Darrion Wimsatt was the leading scorer for the Red Devils was limited in minutes tonight due to an injury but he added eight points including six of 10 free throws and pulled down three rebounds.
