Butler coach Kentreal Goodin started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. DyShawn Brown, 5-11 Sr. Marquis Dorsey, 6-1 Jr. Cameron Underwood, 5-8 Sr. Maurice Tolley, and 5-9 Jr. Willard Minter. Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-1 Sr. Bryce Long. 6-0 Sr. Lorenzo Williams, 6-7 Sr. Michael Moreno, 5-9 Sr. Diablo Stewart, and 6-0 Sr. Glenn Covington.
Scott County led Butler 25-22 at halftime but pulled away in the second half for a 66-45 victory over the Bears. Scott County shot 50% from the field including one of 10 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on 19 of 27 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Butler turnovers. Butler shot 32.7% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc. The Bears connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored nine points off 14 Scott County turnovers.
Bryce Long led Scott County with 14 points including six of seven free throws, eight rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and three steals. 6-2 Sr. Kobi Harris added 12 points and four rebounds. Michael Moreno recorded 10 points, 18 rebounds, and four assists. Diablo Stewart added 10 points, three rebounds, and six assists.
Willard Minter led Butler with 16 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Marquis Dorsey added 12 points, five assists, and three steals.
