Barren County (31-4) vs. Pikeville 27-7) Game 5

Barren County coach Piper Lindsey started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Jalynn Bush, 5-8 Sr. Mallory Pedigo, 6-1 Sr. McKenzie England, 5-6 Jr. Elizabeth Bertram, and 5-8 Sr. Bailey Pedigo.  Pikeville coach Kristy Orem countered with 5-9 Jr. Kirsten Cole-Williamson, 5-9 Sr. Grace Bartley, 6-1 Sr. Leslie Stewart, 5-6 Jr. Kelsey Jo Tackett, and 5-7 Jr. Alivia Gearheart.

 

Barren County raced out to a 17-6 first quarter lead on their way to a 65-47 victory over Pikeville.  Barren County shot 45.3% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Trojanettes connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 11 points off seven Pikeville turnovers.  Pikeville shot 30.9% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Panthers connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored eight points off 12 Barren County turnovers.

 

Elizabeth Bertram led Barren County with 21 points including two three point baskets and three assists.  Bailey Pedigo added 18 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and two blocked shots.  Mallory Pedigo recorded 13 points including nine of 10 free throws and three rebounds.  McKenzie England added six points and 12 rebounds.  Jalynn Bush pulled down eight rebounds.

 

Kelsey Jo Tackett led Pikeville with 14 points including four three point baskets, three rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Kirsten Cole-Williamson added 13 points including five of eight free throws and four rebounds.  5-4 7th Grade Trinity Rowe recorded nine points and Alivia Gearheart chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets and three rebounds.  Leslie Stewart pulled down seven rebounds and blocked two shots.
