Tates Creek trailed 14-7 after the first quarter but rallied to defeat Henry Clay by a score of 48-27. Tates Creek rolled up 405 yards of total offense and their opportunistic defense scored on two interception returns. Tates Creek recorded 24 first downs and 405 yards of total offense. The Commodores were penalized eight times for 101 yards and had a pass intercepted. Henry Clay recorded 14 first downs and 259 yards of total offense. The Blue Devils were penalized eight times for 79 yards and had two passes intercepted.
Marcus Bosley led Tates Creek’s ground game with 50 yards on six carries. Matthew Underwood added 33 yards on 10 carries. Cion Townsend recorded 27 yards on three carries. Luke Duby carried the ball seven times for 23 yards and a touchdown. Luke Duby completed 19 of 31 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. Miles Thomas caught six passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns. Elliot Bryant added four receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown. Cion Townsend caught four passes for 46 yards and TrePOEN Broadus chipped in with four receptions for 35 yards. Elliot Bryant returned three kickoffs for 62 yards with a long return of 38 yards. Delarisco Jones led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling two yards and scored on an 89 yard interception return. Marcus Bosley added five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards. JT Acosta recorded two solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards. Elliot Bryant added two solo and one assisted tackles and scored on a 23 yard interception return.
DJ VanHorn led Henry Clay’s ground game with 51 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. Preston Stacy carried the ball three times for 38 yards. DJ VanHorn completed 11 of 21 passes for 151 yards with two interceptions. Ashton Foos caught three passes for 105 yards. Preston Stacy added three receptions for 18 yards. Preston Stacy returned five kickoffs for 120 yards with a long return of 35 yards. DJ VanHorn returned two kickoffs for 90 yards with a long return of 70 yards for a touchdown. William Webb led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards. Christian Ponce added five solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards. Chris Dabney recorded four solo and two assisted tackles. Kobie Neal chipped in with four solo tackles and intercepted a pass.
