Louisville Holy Cross won their first regional football championship since 1987 with a 21-16 victory over Newport Central Catholic.  Holy Cross recorded 18 first downs and 266 yards of total offense.  The Cougars were penalized six times for 50 yards and had one pass intercepted.  Newport Central Catholic recorded 18 first downs and 361 yards of total offense.  The Thoroughbreds were penalized six times for 45 yards.

Chaz Geraghty led Holy Cross’ ground game with 105 yards on 17 carries.  Luke Davis carried the ball 18 times for 48 yards and two touchdowns.  Lex Thomas added 31 yards on three carries.  Chaz Geraghty completed six of 14 passes for 78 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Graham Carnes caught four passes for 62 yards.  Mason Hirst added two receptions for 16 yards and a touchdown.  Lex Thomas returned two kickoffs for 46 yards.  Phillip Matthews, Luke Davis, and JR Perry each recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.  Graham Carnes intercepted one pass.

Jamir Ackerson led Newport Central Catholic’s ground game with 98 yards on 10 carries.  Paul Kremer carried the ball five times for 24 yards.  Paul Kremer completed 19 of 37 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns.  Isacc Freppon caught four passes for 91 yards.  Cody Mueller added five receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown.  Tanner Daunt also caught five passes for 46 yards.  Joey Runyon added three receptions for 10 yards and a touchdown.  Joey Doeker returned two kickoffs for 36 yards.  Luke Landrum led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles.  Daniel Craig added five solo and four assisted tackles.  Joey Runyon recorded four solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses.  Quentin Meyer intercepted a pass.
