Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Marques Warrick, 6-1 Sr. Marquis Mackey, 6-5 Sr. Jackson Phillips, 5-9 Sr. Terron Hughes, and 6-0 Jr. Aziel Blackwell.  Frederick Douglass coach Kurt Young countered with 6-1 Jr. DaShawn Jackson, 5-10 So. Jaylan Green, 6-0 Sr. Aidan Reid, 5-8 Jr. Khamri McMullen, and 5-8 Sr. Jarvis Byrd.

 

Frederick Douglass raced out to a 26-12 first quarter lead on their way to a 78-72 victory over Henry Clay.  The Broncos raced out to a 58-38 lead in the third quarter and held on for the victory.  Frederick Douglass shot 60% from the field including 10 of 21 from the three point line.  The Broncos was only eight of 21 from the free throw line, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 17 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 50% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 18 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

 

Jaylan Green led Frederick Douglass with 19 points.  DaShawn Jackson added 13 points including two three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  Aidan Reid chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.  6-5 Sr. Bilal Chhadh and 6-0 Jr. Zaydan Fergerson each scored eight points. 

 

Marques Warrick led Henry Clay with 22 points including eight of nine free throws and seven rebounds.  6-1 Sr. Sebian Dillard added 19 points including three three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Marquis Mackey recorded 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  6-2 So. Kanye Henderson chipped in with 11 points including two three point baskets.
