Frederick Douglass coach Kurt Young started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Jaylan Green, 6-0 Sr. Aidan Reid, 6-5 Sr. Bilal Chhadh, 5-8 Sr. Jarvis Byrd, and 5-8 Jr. Khamri McMullen.  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-3 Jr. Campbell DeYoung, 5-10 Jr. Kobe Blake, 6-9 Sr. Ray Surratt, 5-10 Jr. Will Stanfield, and 5-10 Fr. Jayd Huynh.

 

Frederick Douglass raced out to a 22-10 first quarter lead on their way to a 77-70 victory over Lafayette.  Frederick Douglass shot 56.9% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 42.2% from the field including two of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 23 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

 

6-1 Jr. DaShawn Jackson led Frederick Douglass with 20 points including two three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Jarvis Byrd added 13 points on six of six from the field and one of one from the free throw line.  Khamri McMullen recorded 11 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists.  Bilal Chhadh added 10 points and five rebounds.

 

Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 32 points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.  6-4 Sr. Shawn Perkins added 14 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists.  Kobe Blake recorded seven points, four assists, and two steals.
