Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk started the following lineup: 6-6 So. Robert Todd, 6-4 So. Tim Hall Jr., 6-8 Sr. Rabby Kamona, 5-9 Fr. Nick Spalding, and 6-0 Sr. Dylan Spalding. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-3 Sr. Luke Wedding, 6-2 Sr. Jackson Smith, 6-4 Sr. Peyton Pelfrey, 6-2 So. Jack Gohmann, and 6-3 Jr. Ben Johnson.
Lexington Catholic raced out to a 23-5 first quarter lead on their way to a 72-54 victory over Paul Laurence Dunbar. Lexington Catholic shot 48.3% from the field including eight of 17 from the three point line. The Knights connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 23 Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 38.5% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 18 points, three rebounds, and five assists. 6-1 Jr. Ryan Russell added 17 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds. Luke Wedding recorded 13 points including four three point baskets and five rebounds. Jackson Smith chipped in with five points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Tim Hall Jr. led Dunbar with 12 points and three steals. Nick Spalding and Dylan Spalding each scored nine points. Rabby Kamona added four points and 11 rebounds.
