Barbourville coach Cody Messer started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Jonathon Mills, 6-1 Jr. Matthew Gray, 6-2 Sr. Shawn Vaughn, 5-11 Jr. Jordan Collins, and 6-0 Sr. Colby Martin. Madison Southern coach Austin Newton countered with 6-2 Sr. Jonah Wooten, 6-1 Sr. Chad Fugate, 6-4 So. Nate Turner, 5-5 Sr. Colby Sebastian, and 5-8 So.Walt Smith.
Madison Southern raced out to a 22-12 first quarter lead on their way to a 79-61 victory over Barbourville. Madison Southern shot 52.9% from the field including 12 of 27 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 13 of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 Barbourville turnovers. Barbourville shot 44.7% from the field including nine of 24 from beyond the arc. The Tigers connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 10 points off eight Madison Southern turnovers.
Chad Fugate led Madison Southern with 24 points including two three point baskets, six of six free throws and four rebounds. 5-11 Sr. Hunter Buchanan added 19 points including five three point baskets. Jonah Wooten recorded 16 points including three three point baskets. Nate Turner chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.
Shawn Vaughn led Barbourville with 14 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and three steals. Colby Martin added 13 points and six rebounds. Jonathon Mills recorded nine points on three three point baskets and four assists.
