East Central coach Kevin Moore started the following lineup: 6-0 Fr. Josie Trabel, 5-10 Jr. Emma Ertel, 6-2 Jr. Charsan McCory, 5-9 Jr. Kyla Maxwell, and 5-9 Sr. Brilan McCory.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 Jr. Kenady Tompkins, 5-6 So. Emma Price, 6-3 Sr. Malea Williams, 5-6 Jr. Kennon Owens, and 5-6 Sr. Morgan DeFoor.

 

East Central defeated Scott County 63-53 in overtime in a game that had its share of drama.  East Central outscored Scott County 21-11 in the second quarter to take a 32-24 lead at halftime.  Morgan DeFoor a star guard for Scott County did not rejoin her team after the intermission but Scott County rallied to force overtime but East Central outscored the Lady Cardinals 11-1 in overtime for the victory.  The score was tied six times and there were 10 lead changes in the game. 

 

East Central shot 44.4% from the field including five of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Trojans connected on 18 of 33 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 12 points off seven Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 31.7% from the field including eight of 30 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 15 East Central turnovers.  Scott County was whistled for 25 fouls while East Central only had 12 fouls.  East Central attempted 33 free throws while Scott County only visited the charity stripe 12 times.

 

Brilan McCory led East Central with 20 points including two three point baskets, 10 of 16 free throws, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Josie Trabel added 17 points and seven rebounds.  Kyla Maxwell recorded 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Charsan McCory added seven points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Kenady Tompkins led Scott County with 16 points including two three point baskets and 12 rebounds.  Malea Williams added 15 points including two three point baskets, 13 rebounds, seven blocked shots, and three steals.  Kennon Owens chipped in with nine points, five assists, and three steals.
