West Jessamine vs. Lexington Catholic (Girls)

West Jessamine coach Thomas Chestnut started the following lineup: 1-10 So. Aaliyah Edenstrom, 5-8 Jr. Alleyse Steinkuhl, 6-0 So. Delaysia Thomas, 5-5 Jr. Haylee Rutherford, and 5-6 So. Katherine Reed.  Lexington Catholic coach Lee Tegt countered with 5-11 So. Chloe Treece, 5-8 Jr. Ariel West, 5-10 Jr. Emma Frank, 5-6 So. Hannah Carlisle, and 5-8 Jr. Farah Weldon.

 

Lexington Catholic defeated West Jessamine by a score of 61-49.  Lexington Catholic trailed 24-21 at halftime but outscored West Jessamine 23-11 in the third quarter to take control of the game.  Lexington Catholic shot 40.6% from the field including zero of four from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 34 points off 37 West Jessamine turnovers.  West Jessamine shot 45.5% from the field including six of eight from beyond the arc.  The Colts connected on three of nine free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Farah Weldon led Lexington Catholic with 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Emma Frank added 10 points and seven rebounds.  Chloe Treece recorded 10 points.  5-7 Fr. Katherine Truitt chipped in with nine points and three steals.  Hannah Carlisle added six points, four assists, and six steals.

 

Haylee Rutherford led West Jessamine with 14 points including four three point baskets.  Aaliyah Edenstrom added 11 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.  Katherine Reed recorded 11 points and four rebounds.  Alleyse Steinkuhl chipped in with two points, 11 rebounds ,and six assists.
