Scott County vs. Woodford County (Boys)

Scott County coach Tim Glenn started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Elias Richardson, 6-1 Jr. Mikaleb Coffey, 6-6 Sr. Terrin Hamilton, 5-10 Jr. Chase Grigsby, and 6-0 Sr. Aaron Leake.  Woodford County coach 6-2 Jr. Hunter Penn, 6-0 Sr. Jared Courtney, 6-5 Sr. Riley Gardner, 5-6 Sr. Ashton Myles-Devore, and 5-8 Sr. Anthony Tabor.

 

Woodford County led 44-33 in the third quarter but had to survive a furious Scott County rally to earn a 67-65 victory.  The score was tied six times and there were three lead changes in the game.  Woodford County shot 58.5% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 14 of 26 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 43.8% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 19 of 20 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Woodford County turnovers.

 

Jared Courtney led Woodford County with 19 points including three three point baskets.  Hunter Penn added 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Anthony Tabor recorded nine points and three assists.  Riley Gardner chipped in with seven points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Elias Richardson led Scott County with 24 points including eight of eight free throws, six rebounds, and two steals.  Terrin Hamilton added 15 points including nine of 10 free throws, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Aaron Leake recorded 10 points and Chase Grigsby chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.
