Eastern Kentucky University coach Samantha Williams started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Bria Bass, 5-8 Sr. Shay Solomon, 6-2 Jr. I’Liyah Green, 5-6 Jr. Teri Goodlett, and 5-7 Jr. De’Ayra Davis.  Xavier coach Melanie Moore countered with 6-0 So. Lauren Wasylson, 6-0 Jr. A’riana Gray, 6-2 Fr. Ayanna Townsend, 5-4 Jr. Aaliyah Dunham, and 5-11 So. Carrie Gross.

 

Xavier led 32-11 in the second quarter and 45-29 early in the final quarter before Eastern Kentucky rallied to defeat Xavier by a score of 56-55.  Eastern Kentucky outscored Xavier 27-11 in the final quarter.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 31.1% from the field including nine of 30 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on nine of 20 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 19 Xavier turnovers.  Xavier shot 29.2% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc.  They connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 19 Eastern Kentucky University turnovers.

 

5-6 Jr. Qay Stanton led Eastern Kentucky with 13 points including two three point baskets, three assists, and two steals.  I’Liyah Green added 11 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and seven blocked shots.  6-1 Jr. Samari Mowbray recorded nine points on three three point baskets. Teri Goodlett chipped in with seven points, six rebounds, and seven assists.

 

A’riana Gray led Xavier with nine points, 17 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Aaliyah Dunham added nine points on three three point baskets, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Lauren Wasylson recorded eight points including two three point baskets.
