Frederick Douglass and Covington Catholic both came in with 14-0 records.  Covington Catholic defeated Frederick Douglass by a score of 14-7 in a game dominated by defense.  The deciding touchdown for the Colonels was set up by a 37 yard pass from Caleb Jacob to all-everything TE/LB Michael Mayer inside the Douglass 10 yard line.  Covington Catholic recorded eight first downs and 159 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized three times for 25 yards. Frederick Douglass recorded 11 first downs and 158 yards of total offense.  The Broncos were penalized twice for seven yards and had a pass intercepted.

Daniel Felix led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 35 yards on 16 carries.  Michael Mayer carried the ball three times for 20 yards.  Caleb Jacob completed eight of 15 passes for 94 yards.  Michael Mayer was named MVP and caught five passes for 68 yards.  Michael Boydston added two receptions for 21 yards.  Daniel Felix returned one kickoff for 62 yards.  John Lawrie punted five times for an average of 35.6 with three punts inside the 20 yard line.  Jack Raisbeck led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Michael Mayer added four solo and five assisted tackles with 1.5of his tackles resulting in losses totaling two yards.  Daniel Felix recorded four solo and four assisted tackles.  Andre Molique intercepted a pass he returned 22 yards.

Devin Neal led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 94 yards on 14 carries.  Ty Bryant carried the ball twice for 14 yards and a touchdown.  Josh McClurg completed nine of 17 yards for 50 yards with one interception.  Isaiah Allen caught three passes for 31 yards.  Isaiah Clinkscale led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  RaMarcus Thompson added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Davis Joyner recorded two solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.
