Charleston Southern coach Barclay Radebaugh started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Ty Jones, 6-4 Jr. Phlandrous Fleming Jr., 6-8 So.Duncan Lexander, 6-1 Jr. Deontaye Buskey, and 6-2 So. Dontrell Shuler.  Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton countered with 6-8 Jr. Darius Hicks, 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor, 6-8 So. Tre King, 6-2 Jr. Jacquess Hobbs, and 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown.

Charleston Southern defeated Eastern Kentucky University by a score of 76-69.  Charleston Southern led by 16 in the second half but Eastern Kentucky rallied to narrow the margin.  The score was tied four times and there were six leas changes in the game.  Charleston Southern shot 56.3% from the field including eight of 21 from the three point line.  The Buccaneers connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 11 points off nine Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 34.7% from the field including six of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 20 Charleston Southern turnovers.

Phlandrous Fleming Jr. led Charleston Southern with 20 points including two three point baskets, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and two blocked shots.  Dontrell Shuler added 15 points and eight rebounds.  Ty Jones recorded 13 points and five rebounds.  6-0 Fr. Travis Anderson chipped in with 13 points including two three point baskets and five of five free throws.  Deontaye Buskey added 10 points including two three point baskets.

Ty Taylor led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals.  Jomaru Brown added 15 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  6-7 Fr. Michael Moreno recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds.
