Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Shawn Perkins, 5-10 Fr. Jayd Huynh, 6-9 Sr. Ray Surratt, 5-8 So. Quisean Hunt, and 5-10 Jr. Will Stanfield. Ohio County coach Tony Hopper countered with 6-4 Fr. Elijah Decker, 6-3 Sr. Shane Frady, 6-3 Sr. Hunter Pharis, 5-9 Sr. Tripp Manning, and 6-2 Jr. Grant Tichenor.
Ohio County defeated Lafayette in overtime by a score of 86-84. The score was tied eight times and there were 12 lead changes in the game. The game was punctuated by long range bombing as Ohio County connected on 16 treys while Lafayette connected on 13 three point baskets.
Ohio County shot 51.7% from the field including 16 of 34 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 50.8% from the field including 13 of 31 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 13 Ohio County turnovers.
Elijah Decker led Ohio County with 25 points including eight three point baskets. Grant Tichenor added 17 points including two three point baskets. Shane Frady recorded 14 points and four rebounds. Hunter Pharis chipped in with 12 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Tripp Manning added 12 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and 13 assists.
Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 25 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots. 6-3 So. Abe Nelson added 17 points including four three point baskets. Will Stanfield recorded 13 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and four assists. Jayd Huynh chipped in with 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists. 5-10 Jr. Nick Napier added 11 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds. Shawn Perkins pulled down eight rebounds and blocked three shots.
