Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Neil Green, 6-5 Fr. Chandler Starks, 7-1 Sr. Noah Hupmann, 6-0 Sr. Grant Disken, and 6-3 Jr. Donovan Stocks.  Conner coach Matthew Otte countered with 6-4 Sr. Jalen Scott, 6-0 Jr. Riley Osterbur, 6-4 Jr. Aiden Saffell, 5-11 Sr. Jalen Bowles, and 6-0 Sr. Jared Hicks.

 

Covington Catholic trailed 32-31 at halftime but rallied in the second half to outscore Conner 40-16 to earn a 71-48 victory.  Covington Catholic shot 61% from the field including six of 10 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.  Conner shot 29.8% from the field including eight of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Cougars connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and committed five turnovers.

 

Donovan Stocks led Covington Catholic with 19 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Grant Disken added 14 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, four rebounds, and two steals.  Noah Hupmann recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and seven blocked shots.  5-9 Jr. Reece Murphy chipped in with nine points and five assists.  Neil Green added eight points and five rebounds.

 

Jalen Scott led Conner with 22 points including four three point baskets, four of four free throws, four rebounds, and two assists.  Jared Hicks added 10 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals.  6-2 Jr. Spencer Couzins recorded eight points including two three point baskets and two assists.
