Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Raelynn Miller, 5-9 Sr. Taleya Todd, 5-11 Sr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-4 Fr. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Jr. Brianna Bierbaum. Madison Southern coach Allie Turley countered with 5-11 So. Macie Daniels, 5-10 Sr. Aleigh Richardson, 5-9 Sr. Skylar Sparks, 5-6 So.Morgan Flannery, and 5-6 Jr. Samantha Cornelison.
Madison Southern trailed 35-31 after three quarters but the Lady Eagles rallied fueled by a three point bomb by Morgan Flannery to take a 45-43 victory over Madison Central. The Indians had a chance for the tie or win but missed a mid range shot for the tie. The score was tied seven times and there were 10 lead changes in the game. The free throw line was the Achilles heel for the Indians as they were only eight of 23 from the charity stripe.
Madison Southern shot 29.3% from the field including three of 19 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on eight of 16 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored eight points off 19 Madison Central turnovers. Madison Central shot 44.4% from the field including three of five from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on eight of 23 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 13 Madison Southern turnovers.
Macie Daniels led Madison Southern with 10 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots. Skylar Sparks added 10 points and five rebounds. Samantha Cornelison recorded 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Morgan Flannery chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets and five rebounds. Aleigh Richardson added four points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and four steals.
Brianna Bierbaum led Madison Central with 13 points including two three point baskets. Jekauri McKeithen added 12 points, 17 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Taleya Todd chipped in with six points and Eve Carter recorded four points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
