Frederick Douglass coach Kurt Young started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. DaShawn Jackson, 6-1 Sr. Jaylan Green, 6-5 Sr. Bilal Chhadh, 5-7 Sr. Jayden Henderson, and 5-8 Jr. Khamri McMullen.  Scott County coach Tim Glenn countered with 6-4 Jr. Elias Richardson, 6-1 Jr. Mikaleb Coffey, 6-6 Sr. Terrin Hamilton, 5-10 Jr. Chase Grigsby, and 6-0 Sr. Aaron Leake.

 

Frederick Douglass raced out to a 26-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 90-81 victory over Scott County and the Toyota Classic Championship.  Frederick Douglass shot 53.6% from the field including nine of 19 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on 21 of 24 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 49.1% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 21 of 24 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Douglass turnovers/

 

DaShawn Jackson led Frederick Douglass with 33 points including four three point baskets, seven of eight free throws, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Jaylan Green added 19 points including two three point baskets.  6-2 Jr. Julius Scearce recorded 11 points.

 

Terrin Hamilton led Scott County with 29 points including eight of eight free throws and 11 rebounds.  Elias Richardson added 19 points.  Aaron Leake recorded 17 points including six of six free throws, five rebounds, and two assists.  Chase Grigsby chipped in with 12 points including two three point baskets and four of four free throws.
