Southeast Missouri coach Rekha Patterson started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Tesia Thompson, 5-10 Sr. Jessie Harshberger, 6-1 GS Denisha Gardener, 5-4 Sr. Carrie Shephard, and 5-6 So. Taelour Pruitt.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Samantha Williams countered with 6-1 Jr. Samari Mowbray, 5-11 Jr. Bria Bass, 6-2 Jr. I’Liyah Green, 5-6 Jr. Teri Goodlett, and 5-7 Jr. De’ayra Davis.

 

Southeast Missouri trailed 12-6 after the first quarter but rallied to defeat Eastern Kentucky University by a score of 60-44.  Southeast Missouri shot 35.4% from the field including three of 16 from the three point line.  The Redhawks connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 27.9% from the field including five of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored five points off 10 SEMO turnovers.

 

Tesia Thompson led Southeast Missouri with 13 points including nine of 10 free throws, 12 rebounds, and four assists.  Carrie Shephard added 13 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and five steals.  6-0 Sr. Jocelyn Taylor recorded 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  5-8 Fr. Roshala Scott chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.  Denisha Gardener recorded six points and 13 rebounds.

 

I’Liyah Green led Eastern Kentucky University with 17 points, 14 rebounds, five blocked shots, and two steals.  Teri Goodlett added six points on two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two assists.  Bria Bass pulled down seven rebounds.
