Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Peyton Pelfrey, 6-2 So. Jack Gohmann, 6-2 Sr. Jackson Smith, 6-2 Jr. Ben Johnson, and 6-3 Sr. Luke Wedding.  Tates Creek coach 6-2 Sr. Amari Taylor, 5-11 Sr. Isaiah McFarland, 6-4 Jr. Josh DuToit, 5-6 Sr. Maxwell Morton, and 5-9 Jr. RJ Smith.

 

Lexington Catholic pulled away late to defeat Tates Creek by a score of 71-57.  Lexington Catholic led 36-34 at halftime with both teams shooting over 50% from the field and each team recording seven three point baskets.  There were five lead changes and 11 ties in this game.  Lexington Catholic shot 61.5% from the field including eight of 12 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 42% from the field including nine of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 31 points including four three point baskets, five of five free throws, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Luke Wedding added 15 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Jack Gohmann recorded eight points including six of nine free throws and six assists.

 

Amari Taylor led Tates Creek with 22 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists.  Josh DuToit added 13 points including two three point baskets.  RJ Smith recorded eight points, four rebounds, and two assists.
