Tates Creek vs. Great Crossing (Girls)

Tates Creek coach Matt Yates started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Joyce Mukalamusi, 5-8 So. Caty Armishaw, 5-8 Sr. Yasmeen Shalash, 5-5 So. Maddie Kauffman, and 5-7 Sr. Amanda Kanatzar.  Great Crossing coach Glenn Wilson Jr. countered with 5-9 8th Grade Ava Schureman, 5-7 So. Timothi Williams, 6-0 Fr. Raegan Barrett, 5-1 Jr. Braylee McMath, and 5-4 Jr. Hailey Ward.

 

Great Crossing led 45-30 in the third quarter but Tates Creek outscored the Warhawks 26-7 in the final quarter to earn a 70-61 victory.  The score was tied four times and there were nine lead changes in the game.  Tates Creek shot 39.3% from the field including nine of 23 from the three point line.  The Lady Commodores connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored four points off eight Great Crossing turnovers.  Great Crossing shot 29.9% from the field including eight of 29 from beyond the arc.  The Warhawks connected on seven of 14 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Tates Creek turnovers.

 

Amanda Kanatzar led Tates Creek with 20 points including six three point baskets.  Maddie Kauffman added 19 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and three steals.  5-2 So. Jada McDonald recorded eight points and Joyce Mukalamusi pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Timothi Williams led Great crossing with 13 points and nine rebounds.  Braylee McMath added 13 points, four assists, and two steals.  Raegan Barrett recorded 11 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Hailey Ward added 11 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Ava Schureman chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, and two steals.
