Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Peyton Pelfrey, 6-2 So. Jack Gohmann, 6-2 Sr. Jackson Smith, 6-2 Jr. Ben Johnson, and 6-3 Sr. Luke Wedding. Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-3 Jr. Campbell DeYoung, 5-10 Fr. Jayh Huynh, 6-9 Sr. Ray Surratt, 5-10 Jr. Kobe Blake, and 5-10 Jr. Will Stanfield.
Lexington Catholic defeated Lafayette tonight by a score of 88-75. The score was tied once and there were nine lead changes in the game. Lexington Catholic shot 47.2% from the field including 10 of 24 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 20 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 54.9% from the field including 11 of 25 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored nine points off six Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 29 points including six three point baskets, six rebounds, and eight assists. Jack Gohmann added 19 points including two three point baskets and five assists. Jackson Smith recorded 12 points, four rebounds, and five assists.
Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 32 points including four three point baskets, 17 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Campbell DeYoung added 19 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds. Kobe Blake recorded five points, four rebounds, and seven assists.
