Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton started the following lineup: 6-7 Fr. Michael Moreno, 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor, 6-8 So. Tre King, 6-0 Jr. Russhard Cruickshank, and 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown.  Morehead State University coach Preston Spradlin countered with 6-6 Jr. James Baker, 6-3 Sr. Djimon Henson, 6-8 Fr. Tyzhaun Claude, 5-11 Jr. Justin Thomas, and 6-0 Sr. Jordan Walker.

Eastern Kentucky University defeated Morehead State University by the score of 78-71.  Eastern Kentucky shot 55.2% from the field including seven of 20 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers.  Morehead State shot 41.8% from the field including three of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Eagles connected on 12 of 20 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and committed nine turnovers.

Jomaru Brown led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points, five rebounds, and nine assists.  Tre King added 13 points and four rebounds.  Ty Taylor recorded 13 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds.  Michael Moreno chipped in with 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists.  6-10 Fr. Tariq Balogun also reached double figures with 10 points and three rebounds.  6-9 Sr. Lachlan Anderson recorded nine points and seven rebounds.

Tyzhaun Claude led Morehead State with 23 points and six rebounds.  Justin Thomas added 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Djimon Henson recorded 16 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.
