Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Lexi Taylor, 5-8 Sr. Caroline Scott, 5-11 Sr. Kennedy Griffin, 5-3 Sr. Emily Ezell, and 5-7 So. Emma Egan. Butler coach Wyatt Foust countered with 5-10 Jr. Tiarra East, 5-8 Jr. Leslie Baxter, 6-1 So. Tamesha Dozier, 5-3 Jr. Chardrea Satori, and 5-7 Jr. Dyanstee White.
Bullitt East outscored Butler 16-6 in the final quarter to score a 49-40 come-from-behind victory over Butler. There were nine ties and nine lead changes in the game. Bullitt East shot 30% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line. The Lady Chargers connected on 19 of 26 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Butler turnovers. Butler shot 36.4% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc. The Bearettes connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored four points off eight Bullitt East turnovers.
Kennedy Griffin led Bullitt East with 15 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and two assists. Lexi Taylor added 13 points including eight of 10 free throws, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. Emma Egan recorded eight points and four rebounds. Caroline Scott added 10 points, five rebounds, and two steals.
Tiarra East led Butler with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Dyanstee White added 10 points and six rebounds. Leslie Baxter chipped in with seven points.
