Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton started the following lineup: 6-7 Fr. Michael Moreno, 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor, 6-8 So. Tre King, 6-0 Jr. Russhard Cruickshank, and 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown.  Belmont coach Casey Alexander countered with 6-7 Gr.  Tyler Scanlon, 6-4Sr. Michael Benkert, 6-11 So. Nick Muszynski, 6-2 So. Grayson Murphy, and 6-3 So. Adam Kunkel.

Belmont raced out to a 30-21 halftime lead on their way to a 60-50 victory over Eastern Kentucky University.  Belmont shot 33.8% from the field including seven of 30 from the three point line.  They connected on nine of 10 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 12 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 29.9% from the field including five of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on five of 12 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 Belmont turnovers.

Adam Kunkel led Belmont with 15 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Grayson Murphy added 10 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Nick Muszynski recorded eight points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.  6-11 Sr. Seth Adelsperger chipped in with six points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.

6-0 Jr. Russhard Cruickshank led Eastern Kentucky with 15 points including four three point baskets and two steals.  Jomaru Brown added 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Tre King recorded six points and seven rebounds.  6-9 Sr. Lachlan Anderson chipped in with five points and nine rebounds.
