Model coach Candace Wells started the following lineup: 5-6 Jr. Keaton Hall, 5-6 7th Grade Emma Lawson, 5-11 Jr. Taylor LeCompte, 5-3 Sr. McKenna Tuttle, and 5-6 Jr. Kenzie Ferguson. Madison Central coach Brad Lovely countered with 5-7 Sr. Raelynn Miller, 5-7 So. Chloe Freeman, 5-11 Sr. Gretchen Hammitt, 5-4 So. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Sr. Brianna Bierbaum.
Madison Central led 23-20 at halftime but outscored Model 43-9 in the second half to earn a 66-29 victory over Model. Madison Central’s suffocating pressure defense forced 30 turnovers that they converted into 31 points. The Indians recorded 17 steals and blocked three shots with 10 players logging between 10 and 19 minutes and three other players logging six, seven, and nine points with a total of 10 players getting into the scoring column. Madison Central shot 38.2% from the field including six of 24 from the three point line. The Indians connected on eight of 16 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 30 Model turnovers. Model shot 24.3% from the field including one of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Patriots connected on 10 of 26 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored six points off 16 Madison Central turnovers.
Brianna Bierbaum led Madison Central with 12 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds. 5-4 8th Grade Tiana Long added nine points. 5-5 Fr. Eden Carter and 5-7 Fr. Olivia Metcalfe recorded eight points each. Chloe Freeman chipped in with seven points. 5-10 Fr. Bailey Hensley recorded six points, 13 rebounds, and three steals. Raelynn Miller also scored six points. Brittany Campbell had a very productive stat line with three points, three rebounds, five assists, one blocked shot, and five steals. Eve Carter added five points and five rebounds.
Keaton Hall led Model with 11 points and eight rebounds. Taylor LeCompte added six points and seven rebounds. McKenna Tuttle also scored six points and 5-9 Sr. McKenzie Johnson pulled down seven rebounds.
