Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz started the following lineup: 6-6 So. Chandler Starks, 6-5 Jr. Colin McHale, 6-7 Jr.Mitchell Rylee, 5-9 So. Evan Ipsaro, and 6-4 Sr. Donovan Stocks.  St. Xavier coach Kevin Kleien countered with 6-0 Sr. Calvin Schubert, 5-11 Jr. Mekhi Smith, 6-3 Sr. Chandler Strong, 5-9 Sr. John Carroll, and 5-10 Sr. Ben Varga.

Covington Catholic defeated St. Xavier by the score of 73-49.  Covington Catholic shot 64.3% from the field including seven of 15 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers.  St. Xavier shot 41.5% from the field including five of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Tigers connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 12 rebounds, and committed 16 turnovers.

Evan Ipsaro led Covington Catholic with 28 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Donovan Stocks added 16 points including two three point baskets and four of four free throws.  Chandler Starks recorded six points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Ben Varga led St. Xavier with 13 points including two three point baskets.  Mekhi Smith added 10 points.  Chandler Strong recorded eight points including four of four free throws.  5-10 Jr. Cole Sherman also scored eight points.
