Madison Central vs. Lafayette (Girls)

Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-10 Fr. Bailey Hensley, 5-10 Sr. Raelynn Miller, 5-11 Sr. Gretchen Hammitt, 5-4 So. Eve Carter, and 5-7 So. Chloe Freeman.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-10 Jr. Olivia Cathers, 5-7 So. Kylie Noble, 6-0 Jr. Anaya Brown, 5-2 Jr. Catherine Jacobs, and 5-7 Jr. Lauren Walton.

 

Lafayette pulled away in the final quarter (20-7) to defeat Madison Central 54-32.  Madison Central trailed 30-25 in the third quarter but the Lady Generals closed the game with a 24-7 run.  Lafayette shot 40.4% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 11 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 24 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 26.5% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on five of 15 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored eight points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Anaya Brown led Lafayette with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Kylie Noble added 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Lauren Walton recorded 12 points including two three point baskets, four assists, and two steals.  Catherine Jacobs chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, two assists, and five steals.  Olivia Cathers added four points, four rebounds, four blocked shots, and two steals.

 

Bailey Hensley led Madison Central with 19 points and 12 rebounds.  Eve Carter added four points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  5-5 8th Grade Brittany Campbell recorded four points and two steals.
