Shelby County coach Eddie Oakley started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Austin Griffin, 6-0 Jr. JaShon Marshall, 6-4 So. Timothy Fuller, 6-0 Sr. Isaac Chandler, and 6-0 Sr. Trenton Burchfield. Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Sr. Aziel Blackwell, 6-1 Jr. Kanye Henderson, 6-3 Sr. Darik Holman, 5-8 Jr. Sincere Madison, and 5-8 So. Konlin Brown.
Henry Clay trailed 38-33 at halftime but outscored Shelby County 47-25 in the second half to earn an 80-63 victory over the Rockets. There were 10 lead changes and five ties in the game. Henry Clay shot 44.6% from the field including nine of 18 from the three point line. The Blue devils connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 13 Shelby County turnovers. Shelby County shot 51% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc. The Rockets connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Henry Clay turnovers.
Aziel Blackwell led Henry Clay with 20 points including three three point baskets, seven of seven free throws, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Kanye Henderson added 19 points including three three point baskets, and eight rebounds. Sincere Madison recorded 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. 6-0 So. Mason Hawkins chipped in with 11 points including two three point baskets. Darik Holman added eight points and nine rebounds.
Austin Griffin led Shelby County with 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Trenton Burchfield added 14 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two blocked shots. Timothy Fuller recorded eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals.
