Belmont raced out to a 50-32 halftime lead on their way to a 92-74 victory over Eastern Kentucky University. Belmont shot 53.2% from the field including 12 of 28 from the three point line. The Bruins connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Eastern Kentucky University turnovers. EKU shot 42% from the field including 11 of 26 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Belmont turnovers.
Ben Sheppard led Belmont with 25 points including five three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and three steals. Nick Muszynski added 15 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots. Caleb Hollander recorded 14 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and two assists. 6-2 Fr. JaCobi Wood chipped in with 11 points. Grayson Murphy recorded nine points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Luke Smith added eight points, three rebounds, nine assists, and three steals.
6-7 Jr. Cheikh Faye led Eastern Kentucky University with 12 points on four three point baskets. 6-0 Sr. Russhard Cruickshank added 11 points including three three point baskets. 6-10 So. Tariq Balogun recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots. 6-6 Fr. Devontae Blanton added seven points, six rebounds, and two assists.
