Lafayette vs. Lexington Catholic (Boys)

Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Campbell DeYoung, 6-2 Sr. Daniel Kinley, 6-5 Jr. Abe Nelson, 5-10 Sr. Kobe Blake, and 5-10 Sr. Will Stanfield.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Jr. Jack Gohmann, 6-4 So. Hudson Sparks, 6-10 So. Reece Potter, 6-1 Sr. Ryan Russell, and 6-2 Sr. Ben Johnson.

 

Lexington Catholic defeated Lafayette by the score of 81-50.  Lexington Catholic shot 56.1% from the field including nine of 19 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 17 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 30% from the field including sevn of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on seven of eight free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored seven points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 24 points including six three point baskets, six rebounds, and five assists.  Jack Gohmann added 16 points, seven assists, and five steals.  Hudson Sparks and Ryan Russell each recorded nine points.  Reece Potter chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, and two steals.  6-8 So. John McCrear added six points, six rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.

 

Abe Nelson led Lafayette with 17 points including seven of eight free throws and seven rebounds.  Will Stanfield led 12 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  Campbell DeYoung recorded six points on two three point baskets and five rebounds.
