Walton-Verona coach Mark Clinkenbeard countered with 5-9 Sr. Paige Heuser, 5-8 Jr. Kylie Lay, 5-8 Jr. Maggie Buerger, 5-2 Sr. Haylee Neeley, and 5-7 Jr. Audrey Carrico.
Walton-Verona attempted to control the tempo of the game with a deliberate offense looking for the open three ball and led 11-9 after the first quarter. Bethlehem adjusted and pulled away over the next three quarters for a 57-37 victory. The score was tied four times and there were six lead changes in this game. Bethlehem shot 47.4% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line. The Banshees connected on 18 of 25 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 17 Walton-Verona turnovers. Walton-Verona shot 35.3% from the field including six of 12 from beyond the arc. The Bearcats connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored four points off nine Bethlehem turnovers.
Ella Thompson led Bethlehem with 17 points including nine of 11 free throws, seven rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Amelia Hodges added 13 points including four of six free throws, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Carlie Thurmond recorded 10 points including two three point baskets. 6-2 So. Xaviara Smalley chipped in with seven points, five rebounds, and two assists.
Maggie Buerger led Walton-Verona with 11 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds. Haylee Neeley added 10 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and three assists. Audrey Carrico recorded five points, three rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
