Sayre Coach Robert Goodman started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Cole Pennington, 6-3 Sr. Cory Givens, 6-6 Jr. Sam Lain, 6-0 Jr. Dant Bowling, and 6-0 Jr. Zander Collett. Scott County coach Tim Glenn countered with 6-3 Jr. Nick Mosby, 6-2 Jr. Jeremy Hamilton, 6-4 Sr. Elias Richardson, 5-10 Jr. Andrew Willhite, and 5-8 Jr. JZ Miiddleton.
Elias Richardson hit a free throw with 2.6 seconds left in the game to give Scott County a 74-73 come-from-behind victory over Sayre. Sayre led 66-59 with five minutes left in the game but Scott County rallied for the victory. The score was tied 10 times and there were 17 lead changes in this game. Scott County shot 50.9% from the field including six of 20 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 15 Sayre turnovers. Sayre shot 63.6% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc. The Spartans connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored five points off six Sayre turnovers.
Elias Richardson led Scott County with 27 points and 12 rebounds. 5-8 Sr. Chase Grigsby added 23 points including five three point baskets and three steals. Jeremy Hamilton recorded nine points, six rebounds, and four steals. Nick Mosby chipped in with eight points and three rebounds.
Cory Givens led Sayre with 29 points and seven rebounds. Givens was 12 of 14 from the field including one of one from beyond the arc and four of six free throws. Zander Collett added 20 points including two three point baskets. Dant Bowling recorded 14 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Cole Pennington chipped in with six points, eight rebounds, and two assists.
